Whenever you listen to music on your iPhone or iPad, a Now Playing widget appears on the Lock screen so you can see a visual representation of the song’s information and interact with playback controls as needed. Unfortunately, having this widget on a touch screen interface tends to result in accidental actions, such as unwanted pausing, scrubbing, or skipping.
iOS developer PeterDev recognized this problem first-hand on a device of his own and created a new free jailbreak tweak called MusicLocker in an effort to solve the problem once and for all.
In the screenshot example above, you’ll notice a new toggle switch in the top-right of the Now Playing widget. This is put there by the MusicLocker tweak, and when toggled, all components of the Now Playing widget become unresponsive, and therefore immune to accidental interference.
As you might come to expect, toggling the switch off makes
the Now Playing widget’s playback controls responsive again, allowing you to
make adjustments to your playback as necessary.
MusicLocker doesn’t come with any options to configure, and it doesn’t need any. It creates a two-step process right out of the box, preventing clumsy folks from experiencing any kind of interruption during music playback as a result of accident taps and swipes that occur throughout a hectic day.
