Motorola’s CES 2026 presentation might not be billed as big as competitors like Samsung, but the US-based tech giant is doing fairly well in its own regard and showing that you don’t always need a big booth to have a big impact.
With what Motorola just showed off at CES, we’re convinced that the tech giant doesn’t just want to participate in the foldable race, it wants to lead it.
Motorola already makes some of the best flip phones on the market, and it’s now looking to enter the book-style foldable market. After being leaked over recent days, Motorola’s Razr Fold has finally been made official.
Going head to head with the likes of the Z Fold 7 and Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and actually beating them, the Moto Razr Fold boasts a huge 8.1-inch 2K main display and a 6.6-inch external display.
Although Motorola didn’t detail much in terms of availability, it did share the upcoming device’s camera specs, colors, and some software-related details:
- Camera: The Razr Fold will feature a 50MP Sony LYTIA main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide/macro lens, and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens. Additionally, it will also boast a 32MP external selfie camera and a 20MP internal camera, all capable of Dolby Vision recording.
- Colors: PANTONE Blackened Blue and PANTONE Lily White.
- Software: The device’s interface will reportedly be optimized to offer flexible layouts, adaptive interfaces, multitasking enhancements, and support for the new ‘moto pen ultra.’
“More specifications will be shared in the coming months!” said Motorola.
Apart from the new book-style foldable, Motorola also detailed a new look for its smaller “fun” sibling. The tech giant announced the Moto Razr FIFA World Cup 26TM Edition, a device that the company describes as a “bold new expression of design and purpose that brings the spirit of the FIFA World CupTM directly into the hands of fans, players, and creators.”
The device will be available starting February 12, exclusively via Motorola’s website, Verizon, and Total Wireless for $700. Wider retail availability will follow.
Motorola’s CES energy extended to accessories too. In addition to the smartphones, the tech giant also unveiled the Moto Watch, a Moto Pen Ultra, and the Moto Tag 2.
Moto Watch
A new rugged companion with IP68 water and dust resistance, the Moto Watch features a 1.43-inch round OLED with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top. It weighs 35g, which is lighter than the 45mm Pixel Watch 4, albeit with an overall bigger 47mm size.
The wearable supports Bluetooth 5.3 + BLE, and boasts sensors like an accelerometer, Gyroscope, PPG Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, E-Compass, and more. Its highlight is a 13-day battery life.
Moto Pen Ultra
Likely to complement that massive screen on the Moto Razr Fold, Motorola’s Pen Ultra is a stylus that features latency of less than 5ms, complete with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
Features offered include: Annotate and e-sign, Sketch to Image, Speed Share, Quick Clip, and more.
Moto Tag 2
Successor to the August 2024-released Moto Tag, the Moto Tag 2 leans into the latest wireless standards. The main change here is the jump to Bluetooth 6.0, which introduces Channel Sounding technology. For reference, the original Moto Tag relied on standard Bluetooth and UWB.
Channel Sounding tech can achieve sub-meter distance accuracy, making extremely precise tracking possible.
Elsewhere, the Moto Tag 2 boasts roughly 500 days of battery life with a CR2032 cell, complete with enhanced durability (from IP67 to IP68).
A release date for the above mentioned products, barring the Moto Razr World Cup edition, remains to be confirmed.
