It’s no longer a secret that Motorola is working on new models of its Razr foldable phones for 2025. We first saw a major leak showing full renders of the Moto Razr+ (2025), with images of the phone in woodgrain, green, and Orion/Rio Red finishes. New leaks have now revealed the specs of the Razr+ (2025) and also shown off the more affordable sibling, the Motorola Razr (2025), in full detail.
I test 40 phones a year; here’s why the Moto Razr+ goes back in my pocket
Something about the form factor
While we’ve already seen that the Razr+ won’t feature a drastically different design compared to the current Razr+ (2024), it looks like Motorola is beefing up the internal hardware. The phone was spotted on China’s TENAA database (via Android Authority), which revealed specs of the upcoming flagship flip-style foldable.
According to the listing, the Razr+ (2025) — which will reportedly launch globally as the Moto Razr 60 Ultra — will feature a 4,500 mAh battery, a big jump from the 4,000 mAh in the
Razr 40 Ultra
. Additionally, leaker Anvin on X claims it will support 68W fast wired charging, another major upgrade over the current 45W.
Aside from the bigger battery, the Razr+ (2025) is expected to retain the same 6.9-inch inner foldable display and 4-inch pOLED cover display as the previous generation. It will also include dual 50MP rear cameras and a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Powering it will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with up to 18GB of RAM and 2TB of storage.
The Motorola Razr (2025) will have a smaller display compared to its predecessor
But it’s getting a boost in battery capacity
In addition to the Razr 60 Ultra, specs and renders of the more affordable Moto Razr (2025) have leaked via XpertPick. Internationally known as the Moto Razr 60, it will be offered in three colors: Pantone Gibraltar (blue), Pantone Lightest Sky (silver), and Spring Bud (green).
The renders suggest the design of the base Razr (2025) won’t change much compared to its predecessor. However, one upgrade is an IP48 rating, a slight improvement over the previous IPX8.
While the leak doesn’t list dimensions, it does claim the Razr (2025) will feature a smaller 6.7-inch inner display, down from the 6.9 inches in the Moto Razr (2024). One nice upgrade on the newer model, though, is that Motorola is reportedly adding wet touch functionality, which should make the phone easier to use even when your hands or the screen are wet.
Under the hood, the base Razr 60 will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chipset, with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Like the higher-end version, it’s said to pack a 4,500 mAh battery and a 50MP main camera. The leak doesn’t mention the ultra-wide sensor Motorola is going to use for this variant, but given the price point, it’s likely to be more limited in that area.
Motorola usually launches its foldables in June, but given the wave of leaks, an earlier debut can’t be ruled out. The company hasn’t announced a launch date yet, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as there’s an official announcement.
