The Misaka package manager app for MacDirtyCow exploit-susceptible devices running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-16.1.2 received yet another update this week, this time bringing it up to version 1.8.9 beta.
The latest update to was announced via the project’s Discord server on Friday, and comes only a few days after a separate update that addressed crashing in the Misaka app.
Citing the announcement, Misaka version 1.8.9 beta brings the following changes to the app:
– Fix a crash when applying tweaks
– Reclassify default repositories
– Fixes to the user interface
– Change the launch animation
– Add auto-apply URL scheme
If you’re an existing Misaka user, then you’ll be prompted to install the latest update via a pop-up just like the one depicted below where you can follow the prompts:
Anyone who isn’t already taking full advantage of Misaka can follow the steps outlined in our full tutorial and walkthrough to get started. Misaka can be sideloaded via AltStore or Sideloadly, or perma-signed via TrollStore, whichever is more convenient to the user.
Misaka is a lot like a package manager on a jailbroken device, such as Cydia or Sileo, except that using it doesn’t require you to be jailbroken and all the add-ons offered by it are compatible with the MacDirtyCow exploit.
