MediaTek is set to roll out its next flagship chip this September, with plans for it to power a wave of Android phones next year. As expected, leaks are already flooding in, and a trusted tipster has already spilled the full Dimensity 9500 specs, and the leak points to a big step up from its predecessor, packing plenty of performance upgrades.

Tipster Digital Chat Station claimed on Weibo that Dimensity 9500 will be built on TSMC’s cutting-edge N3P process and stick with an all-big-core design (via Android Headlines). The setup reportedly includes one Cortex-X930 core running at 4.21GHz, three more X930s at 3.5GHz, and four Cortex-A730 cores at 2.7GHz. In other words, this should make a solid jump in clock speeds over previous generations.

Furthermore, the chipset is tipped to pack an ARM Mali-G1 Ultra GPU with 12 cores clocked at 1.00GHz, built on a fresh microarchitecture designed to boost ray tracing while cutting power use. MediaTek is also said to bump the L3 cache to 16MB, up from 12MB on the Dimensity 9400 series while keeping the 10MB SLC cache unchanged.

MediaTek’s next flagship chip is also tipped to debut ARM’s Scalable Matrix Extension (SME), bringing smarter workload handling and sharper gains in both single and multi-core performance. The leak also points to a customized take on Vivo’s V3+ ISP powering the camera system, but that enhancement is expected to stay locked to Vivo’s own devices.

Next-gen NPU 9.0 boasts 100 TOPS AI muscle

On top of its CPU and GPU upgrades, the Dimensity 9500 is rumored to feature a new NPU 9.0 capable of hitting 100 TOPS (trillion operations per second). It’s also expected to support LPDDR5X RAM at up to 10,667Mbps and UFS 4.1 storage with a four-lane setup for snappier performance all around.

Leaks suggest MediaTek will officially unveil the Dimensity 9500 on September 22, just a day ahead of Qualcomm’s expected Snapdragon launch. While no phones are confirmed yet, it’s widely expected to debut on flagship Android phones from China like the Vivo X300 and Oppo Find X9 series.
