LinkedHashSet hashCode() method in Java with Example

The hashCode() method of LinkedHashSet in Java is used to get the hashCode value for this instance of the LinkedHashSet. It returns an integer value which is the hashCode value for this instance of the LinkedHashSet.

Syntax:

public int hashCode()

Parameters: This function has no parameters.

Returns: The method returns an integer value which is the hashCode value for this instance of the LinkedHashSet.

Below examples illustrates the LinkedHashSet.hashCode() method:

Example 1:

// Java code to demonstrate the working of
// hashCode() method in LinkedHashSet

import java.util.*;

public class GFG {
    public static void main(String[] args)
    {
        // creating an LinkedHashSet
        LinkedHashSet<Integer> LHS
            = new LinkedHashSet<Integer>();

        // using add() to initialize values
        // [1, 2, 3, 4]
        LHS.add(1);
        LHS.add(2);
        LHS.add(3);
        LHS.add(4);

        // print LinkedHashSet
        System.out.println("LinkedHashSet: "
                           + LHS);

        // Get the hashCode value
        // using hashCode() value
        System.out.println("HashCode value: "
                           + LHS.hashCode());
    }
}

Output:

LinkedHashSet: [1, 2, 3, 4]
HashCode value: 10

Example 2:

// Java code to demonstrate the working of
// hashCode() method in LinkedHashSet

import java.util.*;

public class GFG {
    public static void main(String[] args)
    {
        // creating an LinkedHashSet
        LinkedHashSet<String> LHS
            = new LinkedHashSet<String>();

        // using add() to initialize values
        // [Geeks, For, ForGeeks, GeeksForGeeks]
        LHS.add("Geeks");
        LHS.add("For");
        LHS.add("ForGeeks");
        LHS.add("GeeksForGeeks");

        // print LinkedHashSet
        System.out.println("LinkedHashSet: "
                           + LHS);

        // Get the hashCode value
        // using hashCode() value
        System.out.println("HashCode value: "
                           + LHS.hashCode());
    }
}

Output:

LinkedHashSet: [Geeks, For, ForGeeks, GeeksForGeeks]
HashCode value: -482506029
