When you perform a search using the search bar in the mobile Safari web browser, you’ll be presented with potential search results in real time (called Quick Search), which tends to include your recent web searches along with other recommendations.
While this is an amazing feature that helps make web searches more convenient to end users, one problem with its implementation is that lengthy Quick Search results may appear truncated, especially on devices with smaller displays. That’s where a free jailbreak tweak called LineBreakLiberator by iOS developer PoomSmart comes into play.
As you can see in the before and after screenshot examples above, LineBreakLiberator prevents Quick Search results from becoming truncated in the Quick Search results list, even if they’re ordinarily too long to be displayed on smaller handsets without truncation. This boosts the readability of certain Quick Search results.
This is something that a lot of iPhone users, myself included, may have long overlooked. But once installing LineBreakLiberator and seeing the light, there’s just no going back. Seeing the truncated text on a stock device just makes me upset, so I do truly feel liberated in that respect.
LineBreakLiberator doesn’t come with any options to configure, so what you see is what you get. You can always return to normal by uninstalling the tweak, but I don’t really see any good reason to go back once you’ve installed this common-sense add-on.
