When you’re looking at your iPhone’s Home Screen, you’ve always been able to swipe all the way over to the leftmost page to find your Today widgets. Unfortunately, most people find the Today widgets lacking in capability, if not utterly useless.
That’s why iOS developer hoangdus released a new and free jailbreak tweak called KonbanXV, which effectively turns the today page into a space to put your favorite app so that it’s always available with just a swipe, as shown in the screenshot examples above.
Once installed, you can set an app of your choice to use with KonbanXV and then swipe over to where you’d normally access your Today page. Instead of the Today page, you’ll find your selected app, where you can interface with it without even launching it.
KonbanXV adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app post-installation, where you will be able to configure several settings:
Things that you can do here include:
- Toggling KonbanXV on or off on demand
- Choosing the application that takes the Today page’s place
- Adjusting the scale of the app via a slider
- Adjusting the corner radius of the app via a slider
- And more…
There are a few caveats to KonbanXV that should be disclosed, such as the fact that landscape orientation apps don’t work, apps that use the camera don’t work, and the tweak hasn’t been thoroughly tested on iPadOS. That aside, it works well on jailbroken iPhones running iOS 15 or 16.
If you’d like to give KonbanXV a try, then you can download it for free from the Havoc repository via your favorite package manager app.
