Important stuff from this week

How to install TrollStore with Picasso

TrollStore banner image.TrollStore banner image.

The iDB team created a step-by-step tutorial that shows you how you can install the TrollStore perma-signing utility on your iPhone or iPad with the Picasso kfd exploit-based toolkit app.

This method works on A12 and newer devices running iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.5.1 and 16.6 beta 1.

You can read our step-by-step tutorial to learn more.

RootHide bootstrap updates

RootHide Bootstrap Interface.RootHide Bootstrap Interface.

The RootHide development team issued updates for their Procursus-based bootstrap for the CoreTrust bug in iOS & iPadOS 14.0-17.0 this past week that improve the tool’s dependability and user experience.

With this bootstrap, which you can install via TrollStore, you can enjoy tweak injection in applications. You can also pair it with a “semi-jailbreak” like Serotonin to enjoy tweak injection throughout the system.

You can learn more about what’s new in the latest updates below:

TrollCuts

TrollCuts examples.TrollCuts examples.

TrollCuts is a new add-on for TrollStore that allows users to install and use additional extensions for the Shortcuts app that wouldn’t normally be allowed without the arbitrary entitlements afforded by TrollStore’s CoreTrust bug.

This means that you, as the user, will have access to unique and powerful Shortcuts that you can automate at your convenience. Developers can even expand upon TrollCuts with more extensions of their own if the basic ones aren’t enough.

You can learn more about TrollCuts and what it’s all about in our full review post.

TrollMisaka

TrollMisaka is a new TrollStore installation method designed specifically for installing the perma-signing utility on iOS & iPadOS 14.x-15.8.1 devices.

The utility works as a gap-filler for devices where the MacDirtyCow exploit isn’t effective (iOS & iPadOS 15.7.2-15.8.1) and uses a unique keyboard method to operate.

You can learn more about TrollMisaka in our full news post.

Misaka updates

The Misaka package manager app, which hosts hacks and add-ons related to the MacDirtyCow and kernel file descriptor (kfd) exploits for iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.1.2 and 16.0-16.6.1 respectively, received updates this week that will matter to every day end users.

Vē notification logger

Vē examples.Vē examples.

is a free notification logging and archiving jailbreak tweak that lets you search back on previously-received notifications and interact with them even after you’ve already opened and read them.

It’s an alternative to the paid Senri jailbreak tweak as well, which may be appealing to more people since it doesn’t cost anything to use.

You can learn more about Vē in our full review post.

Gestune

Gestune left and right gestures.Gestune left and right gestures.

The Gestune jailbreak tweak allows users to control their music playback from the Lock Screen and Control Center-based Now Playing widgets with mere tap and swipe gestures.

These gestures can be easier to use when your hands are dirty or when you’re too distracted to carefully tap on small buttons in the widgets themselves.

You can learn more about Gestune and how it works in our full review post.

BioProtect for Serotonin released

BioProtect XSBioProtect XS

Veteran jailbreak tweak developer Limneos just this week released a new version of his popular biometric app locking jailbreak tweak BioProtect for the Serotonin system tweak injection method (also called a “semi-jailbreak”) for the RootHide bootstrap.

This means that even people who aren’t jailbroken, and who are running the RootHide bootstrap and Serotonin “semi-jailbreak” can now enjoy the features of locking individual apps with Touch ID and Face ID.

You can learn more about BioProtect coming to Serotonin in our full news post.

Glow for Serotonin released

The popular Glow always-on display jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Elias Limneos was updated this past week to take advantage of the Serotonin “semi-jailbreak” for the RootHide bootstrap.

Glow also received support for new features and options, which makes it a more appealing choice than Apple’s own native always-on display.

The popular ayeris theme by veteran theme designer Surenix is moving to the modern Chariz repository where it will once again be offered for sale to modern jailbreakers.

Previously, this ten-year-old theme was hosted on the BigBoss repository and then the Dynastic Repo repository after that, but neither one has the capacity to host modern paid jailbreak tweaks anymore.
