The jailbreak community is feeling the excitement of an impending jailbreak release on arm64e devices for the first time since iOS 14 thanks to the upcoming Dopamine jailbreak, which has spurred more tweak development and other exciting announcements.
If you’re unable to keep up with all the rapidly-changing landscapes because of school or your day job, then the good news is that you can always fall back on iDB’s weekly roundups to stay updated on what’s going on throughout the week.
In today’s piece, we’ll discuss the latest jailbreak developments spanning the week of Monday, April 24th to Sunday, April 30th.
Important stuff from this week
Palera1n-c adds iOS 16.4 & 16.4.1 support
The palera1n team on Thursday updated the palera1n-c jailbreak tool to version 2.0.0 beta 6 with official support for iOS & iPadOS 16.4 and 16.4.1.
In addition to the newfangled firmware support, the update also added a new palera1n app user interface and other new features.
You can learn about everything new in the v2.0.0 beta 6 update in our full news post.
Derootifier
The new Derootifier app for TrollStore claims to be able to convert some jailbreak tweaks made for rootful jailbreaks into rootless jailbreak-supported packages.
Derootifier is a user interface based on a Procursus script, and it may not work with all jailbreak tweaks depending on their uses and dependencies.
You can find out more about Derootifier and where you can get it from in our full review post.
Havoc repo supports rootless themes
Havoc announced this week that all themes currently hosted on the popular repository now support rootless jailbreaks, such as Dopamine and palera1n-c.
You can find out more about the implications of this announcement in our full news post.
Installing TrollStore on non-jailbroken devices with TrollHelperOTA
iDB recently made a step-by-step tutorial that shows you how to use TrollHelperOTA to install TrollStore onto non-jailbroken iPhones and iPads running iOS or iPadOS 14.0-15.4.1, 15.5 betas 1-4, and 15.6 betas 1-5.
This method involves installing a special app from an online link that comes disguised as a GTA Car Tracker app, but when opened, is actually the TrollHelper app. This app lets you exploit iOS to install TrollStore and then begin using it.
You can find out how this method works in our full tutorial post.
Get Stage Manager on unsupported iPads
With the new EnableStageManager jailbreak tweak, users of older iPads that have been jailbroken on iPadsOS 16 by way of palera1n-c can now utilize the Stage Manager feature.
Stage Manager is traditionally reserved for newer iPads by a software lock imposed by Apple, but with this tweak, you can enjoy the same new features on older hardware.
You can learn more about EnableStageManager in our full review post.
FiveIconDock
People seem to have an obsession with adding one extra app icon to their jailbroken iPhone’s Home Screen Dock, so it should come as no surprise that an obligatory rootless-supported iOS 15 jailbreak tweak to do this has surfaced.
With FiveIconDock, you can add a fifth app icon to your Dock to make it easier to access that app from the Home Screen.
You can learn more about FiveIconDock and where you can get it from in our full review post.
