Best jailbreak tweaks for starting conversations

Conversation-starting jailbreak tweaks for iOS 15 and 16.Conversation-starting jailbreak tweaks for iOS 15 and 16.

You’ve got a jailbroken iPhone, and the person beside you doesn’t. The next thing you know, they’re asking how you did those cool modifications to your device.

These kinds of conversation-starting jailbreak tweaks are typically of the aesthetic variety, offering a user experience that looks so radically different than stock that people can’t help but ask how they can do it too.

We outline a number of these kinds of jailbreak tweaks in a special featured roundup for your viewing pleasure so you can help spread the word about iPhone jailbreaking.

AltStore PAL, the alternative App Store in the European Union that took the region by storm, received a minor bug fix update this past week.

You can learn about the latest AltStore PAL updates below:

Write Now

Write Now is a very interesting new jailbreak tweak that lets you use AI to augment your existing bodies of text.

Upon highlighting a specific body of text, you can proofread it, re-word it, or enhance the tone with just a tap.

You can learn more about Write Now and the things that you can do with it in our full review post.

Note: A free version for TrollStore (no jailbreak required) was announced several days later that can be injected into individual apps with Troll Fools.

PassText

With a free jailbreak tweak called PassText, you can replace the numbers on your Lock Screen’s passcode entry keypad buttons with text strings or Emojis of your choosing.

Whether you’re attempting to obfuscate your passcode button digits or add a level of user customization to your Lock Screen, we think is a fun tweak for personalizing your device.

You can learn more about PassText in our full review post.

LockButtonX

LockButtonX is a free jailbreak tweak that remaps pressing and holding the sleep/wake button on notched iPhones (the iPhone X and later) so that it invokes the power menu instead of the Siri voice assistant.

This used to be stock functionality on Home Button-equipped devices, but the removal of the Home Button for an all-screen experience meant that Apple had to change how we interacted with buttons a bit. This tweak simply puts a higher priority feature in place of that button.
