Despite the fact that there have been no modern jailbreak releases since iOS 16, the team at neveropen continues to monitor the environment for jailbreaking potential by following leading voices in the community and bringing what we learn back to all our readers.
In this week’s piece, we’ll be covering everything new in the iPhone and iPad hacking communities spanning the week of Monday, June 9th to Sunday, June 15th. As usual, we’ll kick things off by discussing some of the most important topics first before wrapping up with a roundup of the latest jailbreak tweak updates.

Important stuff from this week
iPadOS 26 kills checkm8 jailbreaks
Apple’s upcoming iPadOS 26 software update, launching this Fall, will not support the iPad (7th generation) – the final device that currently supports the checkm8 bootrom exploit-based palera1n jailbreak.
This means that there will be no way of jailbreaking iPadOS 26 or later without the release of an entirely new jailbreak, which at this point in time, seems increasingly unlikely.
You can learn more about this in our full news post.
Pocket Poster
Pocket Poster is a new add-on that iPhone users on iOS 17 and later can use in conjunction with the Nugget device customization toolbox app on their computer to apply custom animated PosterBoard wallpapers to their device without a jailbreak.
This tool currently only supports .tendies files, and it’s a great way to make others’ mouths water over your ability to set animated wallpapers they don’t have access to. There’s a huge community database of wallpapers users can download from the internet.

Nugget and Pocket Poster confirmed working on iOS 26 beta 1
Nugget developer LeminLimez said on Monday that both Nugget and Pocket Poster are working as expected on iOS 26 developer beta 1, which is surprising.
It remains to be seen if these features will continue to work through the beta process and on to the public release of iOS & iPadOS 26, or if Apple will patch these features.
Nugget was also updated to version 5.2.3 to add support for Pocket Poster.

WebKit re-jailbreak utility for iOS 12
Security researcher @wh1te4ever has demoed a WebKit-based re-jailbreaking utility for iPhones and iPads running iOS 12.
What this means is that the end user could potentially re-jailbreak their already jailbroken device (via Chimera) with a button on a website instead of using a jailbreak app that needs to be re-signed all the time.
You can learn more about this in our full news post.
Steps to unofficially upgrade iPad (6th generation) to iPadOS 18 published
Security researcher Nick Chan, a developer with the palera1n jailbreak team, has shared the unofficial steps to upgrade an iPad (6th generation) to iPadOS 18.
This device does not officially support iPadOS 18, but the hardware closely enough matches the iPad (7th generation) that it can work with some caveats.
You can learn more about this in our full news post.
Letterpress
Letterpress is a new add-on for TrollStore that allows you to add audio visualization effects to your iPhone’s Dynamic Island or Notch.
The app is highly configurable and comes with options to configure the visualization effect and which apps it works with.
You can learn more about Letterpress and where you can get it from in our full review post.
IMRead
The IMRead jailbreak tweak can automatically mark unread text messages as read when you clear their corresponding notification banners from either the Lock Screen or from Notification Center.
Thanks to this, it will no longer feel like you have to clear unread notifications twice – once from the Lock Screen or Notification Center and once from the Messages app itself.
You can learn more about IMRead in our full review post.
Flow and Glow
Flow and Glow are two separate, but closely-tied jailbreak tweaks that enhance the Facebook and Messenger social media apps with new features and functionality.
You can learn more about what you can do with these jailbreak tweaks, as well as where you can get them from, in our full review post.
