Important stuff from this week
Dopamine jailbreak released
iOS developer Lars Fröder officially launched the much-anticipated Dopamine jailbreak for arm64e devices (A12-A15) running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 on Tuesday evening.
This jailbreak is rootless, but can be perma-signed with the TrollStore utility.
You can learn more about Dopamine in our full news post.
How to jailbreak with Dopamine
We show you the step-by-step process to install the Dopamine jailbreak for arm64e devices (iPhone XS and newer) running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1.
Check out the full tutorial post for more details.
Dopamine updates
The Dopamine jailbreak received updates to versions 1.0.1, 1.0.2, and 1.0.3 this week with minor bug fixes and improvements. Those updates are discussed in the following news pieces:
XinaA15 and Dopamine compatibility
As it turns out, both the XinaA15 and Dopamine jailbreaks can be safely installed on the same device, assuming the device meets the firmware criteria of both tools. This was confirmed by Dopamine lead developer Lars Fröder.
Both jailbreaks are for certain versions of iOS or iPadOS 15 on A12-A15 devices, and since one works in a rootful manner and the other works in a rootless manner, they won’t affect one another.
You can find out more about this tidbit in our full PSA post.
Zebra updated to v1.1.3
The Zebra package manager app was updated to version 1.1.31 on Tuesday with a slew of enhancements for both rootful and rootless jailbreaks.
One of the most important changes is the Newfangled readiness for the new Dopamine jailbreak.
You can find out everything new in Zebra v1.1.31 in our full news post.
Sideloadly updated
The Sideloadly application for macOS and Windows that allows iPhone and iPad users to sideload apps onto their device was updated to version 0.41.1 on Tuesday.
The latest build of Sideloadly makes the app JIT compilation-capable and enhances the reliability of the Mail app plugin, among other things.
You can learn more about everything new in Sideloadly v0.41.1 in our full news post.
Sirius247 makes all his tweaks free
iOS developer Sirius247 announced the creation of a new repository where his jailbreak tweaks would begin being hosted.
But more importantly, those jailbreak tweaks are now free to download instead of being paid.
You can learn more about this change in our full news post.
Nexus adds rootless support
The popular Nexus jailbreak tweak for making the iOS 14 and 15 Lock Screen look more like it does on iOS 16 has been updated to support the Dopamine rootless jailbreak on A12-A15 devices running iOS 15.0-15.4.1.
You can learn more about this update and what it brings to the table in addition to Dopamine support in our full news post.
BetterAlarm gets iOS 15 & 16 support
BetterAlarm, the popular jailbreak tweak for enhancing the alarm user interface on jailbroken iPhones, is now updated to work on iOS 15 and 16 on the latest jailbreaks, including Dopamine and palera1n.
You can learn more about what’s new in our full news post.
CarBridge adds rootless support
The latest update to CarBridge now allows jailbreakers who use the rootless dynamic on iOS 15 or 16 to use their favorite apps on their CarPlay-enabled head unit whether CarPlay supports them officially or not.
This powerful tweak adds a lot of flexibility to iPhone users in the car, but with great power comes great responsibility, and users shouldn’t attempt to control their iPhone while driving.
You can learn more about the latest CarBridge update in our full review post.
Velvet 2 adds iOS 15 & 16 support
Velvet 2, a popular jailbreak tweak for customizing a handset’s notification banners, was updated this past week to support the latest iOS 15 and 16 jailbreaks whether they’re rootless or not.
You can learn more about what you can do with Velvet 2 in our full news post.
