iGotBlind helps jailbreakers with cluttered Home Screens find their apps

If you have a lot more apps installed on your iPhone than the average Joe, then chances are that you might forget where an app resides on your Home Screen from time to time. iOS & iPadOS 14 aim to improve Home Screen organization with the all-new App Library and the novel ability to hide apps from the Home Screen, but the circumstances are vastly different for those jailbroken in iOS or iPadOS 13 or earlier.

And that brings us to iGotBlind, a free jailbreak tweak created by iOS developer Miro92 to make it easier to locate apps on a cluttered Home Screen.

The way iGotBlind works is simple — when you can’t seem to locate where one of your apps is on your Home Screen, you can simply search for the app via Spotlight and use a 3D Touch or Haptic Touch gesture on the app icon to reveal a contextual menu. From this menu, you’ll find a new option entitled “Find Me,” as shown above. Upon tapping on the Find Me option, you’ll be taken straight to the app’s location on your Home Screen.

We realize that most people have their Home Screen organized to a recognizable extent, but that’s not the case for everyone. In fact, some people have so many app icons on their Home Screen or an over abundance of folders, both of which can make finding certain apps more challenging than it’s worth.

Once installed, iGotBlind adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where users can configure a number of options to their liking:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle iGotBlind on or off on demand
  • Choose an animation type:
    • None
    • Slam
    • Wiggle
  • Enable or disable vibration
  • Enable and configure custom glow coloring effects
  • And respring your device to save any changes you’ve made

We think iGotBlind holds the potential to be a useful resource for the disorderly who often have trouble finding apps on their cluttered Home Screens. While this doesn’t describe everyone, those who it does know who they are and may want to give this tweak a try.

Those interested in trying iGotBlind may download the tweak for free from Miro92’s repository via their favorite package manager. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 & 14 devices.

If you aren’t already using Miro92’s repository, then you can add it to your package manager of choice via the following URL:
