I think September has 2025’s best batch of PlayStation Plus Monthly Games yet

We have learned what PlayStation Plus’ Monthly Games are going to be throughout September 2025. It’s an impressive batch of games that includes the excellent platformer Psychonauts 2 and the beloved Stardew Valley.

In addition to the PS Plus Premium and Extra game catalog expansions every month, three different “Monthly Games” are available to permanently redeem for subscribers of all tiers, including PS Plus Essential. Make sure you at least redeem these on the PlayStation Store before October 7.

What are the PS Plus Monthly Games for September 2025?

Every game in the lineup is amazing

Sony has confirmed on PlayStation Blog that PS Plus subscribers can redeem the following through titles between September 2 and October 7 on PS4 and PS5:

• Psychonauts 2 (PS4)
• Stardew Valley (PS4)
• Viewfinder (PS4, PS5)

All three of these games are outstanding in different ways. My favorite of the bunch is Psychonauts 2, which was one of the first games Xbox Game Studios released on a PlayStation console alongside its Xbox launch.

It’s a 3D platformer where all the levels take place inside the minds of different people. It’s got a wacky sense of humor, some psychedelic visuals, and really enjoyable level design. It was my favorite game of the year when it was released in 2021, so I highly recommend playing it if you haven’t already.

The most broadly appealing game in the September lineup is probably Stardew Valley, though. This farm and life sim needs little introduction, as millions of people have already had a great time with this game, where players build up a farm from scratch while getting to know nearby townsfolk. It’s the best in its genre, making it quite the get for PS Plus.

Finally, Viewfinder stands out as a really creative puzzle game that’s all about perspective. The game lets players take pictures, place them in the game world, and then walk right into them. There’s no other video game that plays quite like it, and it has flown under the radar quite a bit since its launch in 2023.

Ultimately, you can’t go wrong playing any of the three PS Plus Monthly Games available throughout September. That makes up for the fact that there are no other bonuses being added for subscribers this month in celebration of the service’s fifteenth anniversary.

If you redeem Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder between September 2 and October 7, they’ll become a permanent part of your game library as long as you’re subscribed to PS Plus. Make sure you redeem August’s games, which are Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2, so the same applies to them.
