When I reviewed the Motorola Edge 2025, I called it my carrier deal darling. The phone has excellent hardware and was a joy to use, but its initial MSRP was a non-starter. For $550, there’s just too much fantastic midrange competition offering better specs and extended software support. However, like every other year, I knew the Motorola Edge would see some enticing sales, making it an ideal choice for those who love value.

Sure enough, the deals have started, and T-Mobile has a way for you to score a Motorola Edge 2025 for free with a qualifying trade-in or when you sign up for a new line. Yes, conditions apply, and you’ll need to stay with T-Mobile for 24 months to receive all the bill credits. However, if you’re already staying with T-Mobile, this is a way to save a lot of money on a phone I highly recommend.

Why you should buy a Motorola Edge 2025

I disagree with the Motorola Edge’s high initial MSRP, but the display is worth the price of admission. The Edge features a gorgeous 6.7-inch Super HD panel (1220 x 2712) with excellent color and contrast. It also has a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, making it a joy to view outdoors. It’s a curved display which you’ll either love or hate, but it works well on the Motorola Edge, tapering to the device’s aluminum frame. Motorola improved durability for 2025, fitting the Edge with Gorilla Glass 7i.

Performance is solid, thanks to the Edge’s MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset. Moto fits the Edge with 8GB of RAM, ensuring a smooth user experience. You’ll be able to enjoy playing most games, and daily tasks are handled with ease. Keep your expectations in check for a midrange phone, and you’ll be fine. The phone comes with Hello UI running Android 15, and Motorola promises two years of software upgrades and three years of security updates. It’s not a ton of support, but it’s what we’ve come to expect from Moto.

I consistently get two days of mixed use on a single charge from the 5,200mAh battery in the Motorola Edge 2025. When it is time to recharge, the Moto does it better than most for under $400, with 68W wired charging. You’ll get surprisingly decent photos from the phone’s 50MP primary sensor, especially in good lighting, and I was pleased with how well the Edge captured motion. If you’re in the market for a fantastic value, it’s hard to pass up this T-Mobile deal.
