We’re expecting the Pixel 10 series to make its official debut on August 20 at the next Made By Google event, but Google itself just pulled the curtain back on its upcoming flagship with a teaser video. As leaks have suggested, the design is strikingly similar to the Pixel 9 series.
Google posted the teaser video at the top of the main Google Store landing page alongside an “exclusive offer” for people who sign up for its newsletter (via Mishaal Rahman on Telegram). The offer isn’t valid if you’re already on the Google Store’s mailing list, however.
Notably, the video shows a blueish colorway that wasn’t available with last year’s phones. This is likely the “Moonstone” option we saw in a leaked list of colors earlier this month. For the Pixel 10 Pro, this and a “Jade” colorway are expected to replace the existing Hazel and Rose Quartz options, with the standard white and black (Porcelain and Obsidian) colors returning.
A familiar design and a vague promotional offer
It appears that Google is sticking with a tried-and-true design for its newest phone — in fact, aside from the color, we’re struggling to see any differences between the device in the teaser and the existing Pixel 9 Pro. However, from a previous Pixel 10 Pro hands-on leak, we were able to compare the upcoming model to the existing one and noticed some subtle changes.
Namely, the SIM slot appears to have moved from the bottom edge to the side, and in its place, a second speaker or microphone cutout has been added. Aside from that, the metal bezel around the rear camera glass seems to have shrunken a bit.
The lack of a fresh new design might not be the only disappointment here — Google’s promotional offer is fairly vague and probably won’t apply if you’re a long-term Pixel fan.
The offer is only valid if you haven’t already signed up for the Google Store’s newsletter. If you meet that requirement, you also have to be a US resident to claim it, and the coupon you get will only work during a two-week window from August 20th through September 4th.
Even then, Google doesn’t specify what the actual discount will be — only that “instructions will be emailed after sign-up” on launch day. Past Google Store email sign-up promotions have come with a coupon for a 10% discount at checkout, but the monetary value of this one hasn’t been disclosed yet.
