Google has begun rolling out the October 2025 update for supported Pixel phones. As the leaked release notes from Verizon indicated, the October build only brings a handful of minor bug fixes alongside patches for some security vulnerabilities.

For Pixel 10 users, the most notable change in the update is a fix for the fuzzy or frozen display. You can find Google’s full change log below:

Display & Graphics

  • Fix for screen flickering and sudden shutdown issues under certain conditions (Applies to Pixel 7 series)
  • Fix for issue occasionally causing frozen or fuzzy display under certain conditions (Applies to Pixel 10 series)

System

  • Fix for issue occasionally causing system instability under certain conditions (Applies to Pixel Tablet)

User Interface

  • Fix for an issue where a semi-transparent background would persist after the camera was launched under certain conditions (Applies to Pixel 7, 8, 9, and 10)
  • Fix for issue where the flashlight status does not appear on the At a Glance widget in certain conditions (Applies to Pixel 9 and 10)
  • Fix for System UI crash when starting or stopping casting with the Media Output Switcher in certain conditions (Applies to Pixel 7, 8, 9, and 10)

As evident from the release notes, there are no major changes or enhancements in the October build. Google will likely bundle all the major changes with Android 16’s next big Quarterly Platform Release, due to drop in December 2025.

The October 2025 security bulletin has yet to go live, so it’s unclear what security vulnerabilities Google has patched this month.

For reasons best known to Google, the October patch won’t be making its way to the Pixel 6 family.

Wait for the OTA or sideload it now

The October OTA might take a while to reach your phone. And if you cannot wait that long, grab the factory image or OTA package from the developer website and sideload the October build right away.

Alongside the October patch, Google rolled out the Wear OS 6 update for the Pixel Watch 2 and 3. The update brings a major UI overhaul with Material You’s Expressive design language, complete with slick animations, Dynamic Color support, and refreshed app icons.
