Being able to hold a natural conversation with Google’s AI while you bend Gemini to do your bidding is a nifty feature for sure, especially now that there is extension support for a range of apps across Gemini Live, with new app support added all the time.
Still, Google has plenty of work left to do to ensure the rest of the apps everyone likes to use are supported by Gemini Live, and today it is clear expanded extension support is in the works thanks to a recent APK teardown that has uncovered a list of apps that could support Gemini Live sometime soon.
Gemini Live could soon offer support for Spotify and YouTube Music

Thanks to Android Authority’s screenshot above, you can easily see that the new beta build of the Google Android app (version 16.25.44.sa.arm64, to be specific) contains a list of Gemini Live extensions, but of course a few of these aren’t actually available yet, pointing to the possibility of their support landing sometime soon in the stable release.
Most notably, YouTube Music and Spotify are on the list, though there is no telling how far along development for these extensions is, but at least we now know both apps should ideally see Gemini Live support in the future, which surely isn’t a stretch when both apps have offered Gemini extension support since late last year.
Ultimately, today’s Google beta app teardown reveals that more Gemini Live extensions are planned and likely being worked on. So perhaps one day, Gemini and Gemini Live will reach parity in their extension support as development for both progresses, finally allowing users to avoid the hassle of keeping track of which version of Gemini supports their favorite apps with necessary extensions. We’re not there yet, but at least Google is on the path.
