Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 series isn’t expected to be a major revamp from its 2024-launched predecessors. Recently-leaked images of the Pixel 10 Pro suggest minimal external design changes, with Android 16 and its Material 3 Expressive redesign expected to bring the most significant overhaul to the user experience.
However, there is one physical aspect of the upcoming series that Google might be looking to significantly shake up. Although the said change wouldn’t necessarily make or break the upcoming series, it will surely mark a major departure.
We’ve heard about the Pixel 10 series’ reported colorways scattered across leaks in the past, but a fresh report has just confirmed the exact colorways for each and every upcoming Pixel 10 device. Courtesy of AndroidHeadlines, quoting multiple unnamed sources, long-standing Obsidian and Porcelain colorways are reportedly being retired from the Pixel lineup.
For reference, Porcelain and Obsidian colorways have been staple on Pixel devices since the Pixel 6. Although similar colors like the reported ‘Midnight’ and ‘Light Porcelain’ are expected to offer some sort of continuity, these colorways won’t be identical.

Blue, last seen on the Pixel 8 Pro, is making a comeback with the base Pixel 10. Ultra Blue, as the name suggests, might be a darker variant of the Bay colorway seen on the Pixel 8 Pro. Limoncello, on the other hand, is expected to be a yellow colorway. Yellow was last seen on the Sorta Sunny Pixel 6 Pro.
Midnight is expected to be a darker version of the familiar Obsidian, while Iris, as seen on the Pixel 9a, will be a purple variant.
Pro models get fresh hues too
Similarly, Midnight and Light Porcelain will offer similar hues to Obsidian and Porcelain, respectively, on the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. While Sterling Gray and Smoky Green appear to be entirely new colorways. The former is expected to be a lighter shade of Midnight, while the latter could be a darker version of Wintergreen.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold, similar to its predecessor, will only come in two colorways. Previously limited to the staple Obsidian and Porcelain colorways, the upcoming foldable will reportedly be available in Sterling Gray and Smoky Green. The former will appeal to those who prefer a classic look, while the latter would cater to those who prefer a more distinctive look.
As always, take these not-so-early leaks with a grain of salt. The Pixel 10 series is expected to be unveiled on August 20.
