Google started accepting preorders for the Pixel 10 and its Pro siblings right after its Made by Google event on August 20th. The devices will land in retail stores on August 28, with preorders arriving the same day for customers who ordered early. However, some lucky users are getting their Pixel 10 preorder unit delivered a day earlier.
Several Pixel 10 Pro or 10 Pro XL buyers from Australia, the UK, and India report (2) receiving their units ahead of schedule. For some, the package even included Google’s new Pixelsnap Charger with Stand.
Supposedly, there will be a 579MB day-one update available for users who get their Pixel 10 units early.
One user upgrading from the Pixel 9 Pro XL found the speaker improvement noticeable, saying the Pixel 10 Pro XL sounds fuller and less tinny.
The order status on the Google Store for most unlucky folks still says “Preparing to ship” or “Shipped,” with delivery scheduled for August 28th. Some users are receiving a notification directly from UPS or FedEx about an upcoming delivery despite their preorder status not changing from “Preparing to ship.”
Considering Google’s shaky preorder history — looking at you, Pixel 6 — it’s nice to see early deliveries this time around. While a one-day early delivery might not seem like a big deal, for Pixel fans burned by past preorder fiascos, it still feels like progress.
Preorder delayed? Check your local store for a Pixel 10
Depending on when and which variant of the Pixel 10 you preordered, your delivery should arrive on launch day (August 28th) or soon after.
If your preorder isn’t set to arrive until next month, it may be worth checking your local carrier store on launch day to see if you could snag a unit early.
Remember, the Pixel 10 series is eSIM-only in the US, with no support for physical SIM cards. Depending on your phone and carrier, you may need to contact them to convert your SIM to eSIM — a process that can take longer than a few minutes. This could make migrating to the Pixel 10 a challenging experience, especially if you are not tech-savvy.
