This year has already been wild for your beloved Android phones. Samsung came out swinging with the Galaxy S25 lineup earlier this year, then followed up with the ultra-thin S25 Edge just a few months later. OnePlus didn’t sit back either, dropping the OnePlus 13 into the mix. Now, it’s Google’s turn to make some noise. The Pixel 10 has been brewing for a while, and while rumors were betting on an August 13 launch, Google just made it official—August 20 is the date. And it’s not just about the next-generation Pixels, as Google is gearing up to roll out a bunch of new hardware.

Google has officially sent out invites for its Made by Google event, locking in New York City as the stage for what looks to be a major hardware reveal (via The Verge). While the company keeps most details under wraps, all signs point to a full Pixel 10 lineup debut, including the regular Pixel 10, the Pixel 10 Pro, a possible Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also shared what the invite looks like on X.

Why the Pixel 10 matters

The upcoming Pixel 10 phones are expected to pack Google’s new in-house Tensor G5 chip. Rumor has it that it’s being built using TSMC’s advanced 3nm process, which could mean big gains in speed, power efficiency, and AI smarts compared to previous chips.

Design-wise, the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro are rumored to stick with a familiar 6.3-inch OLED screen. Meanwhile, the Pro models might carry over their signature look but with upgraded internals and camera setups.

One of the more buzzworthy releases this year is shaping up to be the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Google’s second shot at a foldable. Leaks point to some real upgrades, like IP68 water and dust resistance, which would be a first for a Pixel foldable. It’s also expected to get a bigger battery, faster charging, and a noticeably brighter screen than its predecessor.

It won’t just be phones on deck. The Pixel Watch 4 is also widely expected to make an appearance, likely offering a refined design and better battery life. On the audio front, there’s chatter about new Pixel Buds 2a, possibly a refresh of the affordable A-series buds with updated internals and a better fit.

Google is expected to open pre-orders immediately after the event on August 20, with deliveries potentially beginning by the end of August.
