While Google Gemini itself is very powerful, you can further extend its functionality using Apps or extensions. This enables the AI chatbot to interact with other apps, such as Google Keep, Drive, Gmail, YouTube, etc. However, Gemini Live — which allows you to share your screen or camera feed with Google’s AI for direct analysis — does not support these extensions. At I/O 2025, Google announced it was working on this functionality, and now, just over two months later, the feature seems to be going live for some users.
Some Reddit users report that they can now talk to Gemini Live and ask it to create and save a note in Google Keep directly (via 9to5Google). Until now, there was no way to ask Gemini Live to take such actions. It increases the feature’s usefulness, as you can have a natural conversation with the AI chatbot about a recipe and then ask it to note down the ingredients required in a Google Keep note.
Even better, while sharing your camera feed with Gemini Live, you can ask it to note down details in a document or post in Google Keep.
While Gemini Live itself is available for free, it’s unclear if Gemini Apps support will only be available to users on the paid AI plan.
Gemini Live’s Keep integration may take a while to show up
Google may be in the early stages of rolling out Keep support in Gemini Live, so the integration could take a while to show up on your phone. After all, the company took its time in expanding Gemini Live’s free access to all Android and iPhone users. Still, you can try force-closing the Google/Gemini app on your phone and update to the latest builds available on the Play Store to get the Keep extension to work in Gemini Live.
Besides Keep, Gemini Live will gain integration with other Gemini Apps like Google Maps, Tasks, and Calendar. They may also start going live for some users in the coming days. Gemini Apps integration comes hot on the heels of Google rolling out live caption support in Gemini Live. The feature is already rolling out widely, and you should see the live caption button in the top-right corner the next time you invoke Gemini Live.
