Many months ago, we reported that Gemini was coming to Android Auto. And while we expected it to get a wide rollout, things have been moving at a snail’s pace.

So, if you’ve yet to experience the upgraded AI assistant on your daily route, you might want to check for an update on your phone, because it’s looking like Gemini on Android Auto is finally rolling out to more devices.

It’s finally here…

Reports are coming in from all over the internet, with many chiming in on Reddit about how they’re finally seeing a new AI assistant powered by Gemini (via Android Authority) on Android Auto. As you can imagine, this is a pretty big deal, considering how archaic the old Assistant has become compared to what we have now.

Perhaps the best part about the experience is that things are more conversational. You no longer have to provide specific prompts to get results. Just can just have a casual conversation with Gemini to get the information you need, or to get things done while you’re on the road hands-free.

Gemini’s strongest ability is that it can tap into connected Google apps and services to get the best results. For example, you can ask Gemini to look through your email to find an address and navigate there. Furthermore, you can also layer requests, which can make it all feel more seamless.

You can get an idea of how all this works by checking out the video above. For the most part, we don’t think there will be many complaints when it comes to the experience when compared to the previous iteration. However, like with any new rollout, things won’t be perfect, so you can expect there to be little things here and there that just don’t quite make it a flawless experience.

Naturally, Google will continue to deliver updates in order to improve the experience, just like it does with most of its current products. So, if you’re interested and want to give it a try, be sure to check for any updates on your phone. If you don’t have it on your device yet, you’ll just have to continue to be patient.
