There are plenty of flagship smartwatches, like Google’s Pixel Watch 3 and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra, but Garmin smartwatches remain some of the best options for fitness tracking enthusiasts. However, one key thing missing from Garmin smartwatches has been support for Google’s Health Connect.

That finally changed in May 2025, when Google announced at I/O 2025 that Health Connect would soon support Garmin Connect and sync data from the fitness brand’s app. The company initially set a deadline of June 2025 for this integration.

That’s now behind us, and the Garmin–Google Health Connect syncing still isn’t live yet. However, Garmin has detailed what kind of data the apps will be able to share once the integration goes live.

Health Connect support is coming to Garmin

But don’t expect full data sharing

As spotted by Android Central, a Garmin support page has outlined the data Garmin Connect will share with Health Connect. The list includes metrics like Active and Total Calories burned, Cycling Pedal Cadence, Distance, and more.

It’s important to note that this will be one-way data sharing — Garmin has clarified that it will not receive any data from Google. Here’s the full list of shareable data:

  • Active and Total Calories burned
  • Cycling Pedal Cadence
  • Distance
  • Elevation Gained
  • Heart Rate data
  • Speed information
  • Steps
  • Swimming Strokes
  • Body Fat
  • Calories Burned
  • Floors Climbed
  • Heart Rate Data
  • Sleep Data
  • Steps and Step Distance
  • Weight

It’s also worth noting that some of Garmin’s proprietary data — such as body battery, training load, and running tolerance — will remain exclusive to the Garmin Connect app and won’t be shared with Google Health Connect. This is expected, as Health Connect doesn’t support those data categories.

Also, since it’s a one-way transfer only and Garmin won’t receive any data from Health Connect, workouts tracked on other smartwatches or fitness wearables won’t appear in the Garmin Connect app.

That said, this is still a meaningful first step in making Garmin data accessible in apps that use the Health Connect platform. While we don’t know exactly when the integration will go live, Google and Garmin’s initial June deadline suggests it should arrive sooner rather than later.
