Samsung’s next-generation foldable phones are just a couple of weeks away. The company has officially announced that it will host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, July 9 in New York under the theme “Ultra unfolds,” where it’s expected to unveil the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. As with the previous Samsung launches, leaks have already started to surface ahead of the announcement.
We’ve already seen a hands-on video of a Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy unit and even official renders. All signs point to the Z Fold 7 being thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, it looks like its pricing won’t be as slim as people were hoping.
NieuweMobiel (via Sammobile) has reportedly spotted listings for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 at an Italian electronics store, suggesting a price hike is coming. According to the leak, the Z Fold 7 will start at €2,227 and the Z Flip 7 at €1,425 in Europe. In the UK, the Fold 7 is expected to cost £1,975, while the Flip 7 will retail for £1,198.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 price might surprise you in the wrong way
If accurate, we’re looking at a €100–€200 and £150–£200 price increase compared to the previous generation in Europe and the UK. There’s no word yet on pricing changes in the US or other markets, but historically, increases in one region often lead to higher prices elsewhere too.
Samsung had already raised foldable prices in the US by $100 last year. A further hike might not sit well with consumers. High pricing remains a concern among foldable buyers, along with worries about durability and overall value for money. Another increase may turn more potential customers away.
