Samsung has been beta testing Android 16 QPR2-based One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series since December. Seven beta builds later, the company’s 2025 flagship Galaxy phone should get the stable update later this month or in early April. Samsung is now also expanding the beta program, releasing the first One UI 8.5 beta for its 2025 flagship foldables — the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.

The ZC5 firmware for the Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 is currently live in South Korea and India. It weighs 4.2GB for the Fold and contains the February 2026 security patch (via Samsung community).

Samsung should soon expand the beta rollout to more countries, including the UK, Germany, the US, and Poland.

You can join the One UI beta program through the Samsung Members app. Simply open the app, tap the beta banner at the bottom, and enroll in the program. Within a few minutes of doing that, a hefty OTA update should appear on your phone for download that you can grab from Settings > Software update > Download and install.

While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are only now receiving their first One UI 8.5 beta, their builds should be relatively stable. Samsung has already been testing the software on the Galaxy S26 series for some time and has squashed plenty of bugs.

One UI 8.5 brings minor but useful improvements

One UI 8.5 packs several useful additions, including an AI-powered voicemail, Theft Protection, Storage Share for connected Galaxy devices that allows you to manage storage on other Samsung devices directly from the My Files app, Audio Broadcast for LE-supported devices, and an enhanced Photo Assist experience in the Gallery app.

Quick Share will also get smarter as part of the update, and automatically suggest share targets based on the people in your photos.

Additionally, there are minor visual tweaks, with Samsung taking cues from Apple’s Liquid Glass design to add more transparency throughout the UI.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 should receive the stable One UI 8.5 update later this month or in early April, alongside the Galaxy S25 series.
