Samsung’s next major tablet releases are well on their way to becoming a reality if a new, and detail-filled leak is accurate. In it, we’re told to expect three models this year, consisting of the already leaked Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, the Galaxy Tab S11, and a new Galaxy Tab S10 Lite.
It’s easier to break each one down into its own section, so here’s what Samsung’s forthcoming 2025 tablet range looks like so far, according to a Deallabs report. If it’s accurate, we’ve got two interesting new models to look forward to, and one potential dud.
Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra
The fact Samsung has new tablets coming soon, probably around early September isn’t a surprise. The company confirmed it would launch new Galaxy Tab models “in line with its usual cadence” when it showed off the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 recently. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has already seen its fair share of rumors too.
The Tab S11 Ultra will be a monster tablet again, with a 14.1-inch AMOLED screen expected, and power delivered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400, plus a large 11,600mAh battery. Samsung’s 45W charging will replenish the cell. It’ll apparently have a pair of cameras: a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and a 12MP camera on the rear. Also expect four speakers, and an overall weight of 692 grams.
All this will make the Galaxy Tab S11 even bigger than the already pretty large OnePlus Pad 3, and with the new DeX software experience, should make it a competent laptop alternative when it’s paired with a keyboard case. The leaked details are in-line with what we’d already heard about the Tab S11 Ultra, including the removal of the second front camera, and we also now have a possible 1,400 euro price attached, which converts over to $1.630 for the base model.
Galaxy Tab S11
The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra will be the choice of the serious tablet buyer, who wants more than just a bigger screen to play a few games and watch some videos. Everyone else will look at the Galaxy Tab S11, the standard model in the range with a sensible 11-inch AMOLED screen and a more manageable 482 gram weight, according to the rumored specs in the report.
It’ll apparently use the same MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor as the Tab S11 Ultra, and share the same cameras, speakers, and battery charging specification too. The battery itself is expected to have a smaller 8,400mAh capacity. Both the Tab S11 and the Tab S11 Ultra should come with an S Pen stylus in the box, just like the recently launched Galaxy Tab S10 FE.
The smaller size means a smaller price, and the rumored starting price of 900 euros converts over to $1,048. For reference, the Galaxy S9 (Samsung didn’t release a standard Galaxy S10) cost $800 at launch, and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra cost $1,200, so expect final prices in the U.S. to be close to these.
Galaxy Tab S11 Lite
Samsung will not release a Galaxy Tab S11+, according to the leak, but will instead bring a new model into the range. Just to confuse everyone, it won’t be a member of the Tab S11 family, but carry over the S10 name. The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite will dip just under the S11’s screen size at 10.9-inches, and use one of Samsung’s own Exynos 1380 processors.
This is an odd decision, as it has been superseded by the Exynos 1480, which is used in the Galaxy Tab S10 FE. The S10 Lite is expected to have an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, an 8,000mAh battery, 25W charging, and only a pair of speakers. This isn’t all that different to the Galaxy S10 FE, but the S10 Lite’s possible 400 euro starting price is slightly less than the S10 FE’s 580 euro launch price.
Samsung has confirmed it will hold a special press conference on September 4
However, Samsung and other retailers regularly discount the Tab S10 FE, and it can be found for a lot less than its retail price. It makes the decision to produce a very similar-sounding Lite tablet confusing, especially for potential buyers. While Samsung clearly didn’t see people buying the Galaxy Tab S10+, replacing it with another low-cost 10.9-inch tablet (with an outdated processor inside) doesn’t seem likely to be an instant sales winner either.
When will the Galaxy Tab S11 tablets launch?
The Galaxy Tab S10 series was announced at the end of September 2024, meaning we could see the new Galaxy Tab S11 range any time over the next few weeks, with a date on the earlier side becoming more likely.
The IFA technology show takes place in Berlin, Germany between September 5 and September 9, and Samsung has confirmed it will hold a special press conference on September 4, making it the prime time to announce the Galaxy Tab S11, Tab S11 Ultra, and Tab S10 Lite. We’ll find out on the day.
