After what feels like an unnecessarily long period of absence, Epic Games’ Fortnite is finally back on the Google Play Store.

The return coincides with the battle royale behemoth’s OG Season 7.

It’s worth noting that even during its absence, users have had the option to sideload the title on Android. Now, though, the experience of downloading and installing the title has been dramatically simplified.

The re-listing is far more than a return to the Play Store. It highlights Epic Games’ landmark antitrust victory against Google. The return comes as a direct result of Google complying with a U.S. District Court injunction, as highlighted by Reuters.

A large portion of the world still has to sideload

Epic added that it’s “continuing to work with Google to seek court approval of our settlement,” which should also help the game return to the Play Store globally. For reference, the title is currently only back on the US Play Store. I can confirm that the title isn’t yet available on the Canadian Play Store.

The development comes roughly six months after Fortnite returned to Apple’s app Store, and roughly five months after Epic dropped its lawsuit against Samsung and its Auto Block feature.
