Enable up to five columns in Control Center with the Oh My Insets jailbreak tweak

Control Center is a place where iPhone and iPad users alike can quickly access shortcuts and toggles without having to sift through a maze of preference panes in the Settings app. Unfortunately, when you use more shortcuts and toggles than the ordinary person, things can feel cramped.

Oh My Insets is a new and free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer 82flex that promises to resolve this concern by allowing jailbreakers to customize exactly how many columns of shortcuts and toggles they have in the Control Center interface.

In the screenshot example above, you can see that the iPhone has been customized to have five individual columns of shortcuts and toggles in Control Center instead of the usual four. This allows for a higher number of shortcuts and toggles to be visible, letting users enable more than they could have right out of the box.

Once installed, Oh My Insets adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where users can configure the tweak to their liking:

Things that you can do here include:

  • Toggling Oh My Insets on or off on demand
  • Enabling five columns in Control Center
  • Adjusting the compact leading inset level via a slider
  • Adjusting the compact trailing inset level via a slider
  • Adjusting the expanded leading inset level via a slider
  • Adjusting the expanded trailing inset level via a slider
  • Respringing your device to save any changes you’ve made

One of the things that we like about this tweak is that you can change the insets – the horizontal paddings of the Status Bar – to ensure a proper aesthetic. In addition to this, you can make Control Center more useful by enabling more shortcuts and toggles that you couldn’t fit there before.

According to the developer, Oh My Insets is compatible with jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16 devices, whether you’re using an older jailbreak like palera1n, or a newer jailbreak like Dopamine or Dopamine with RootHide jailbreak detection bypass. It even works with the NathanLR semi-jailbreak. Other tools remain untested.

Those looking to give Oh My Insets a try can download it for free from the Havoc repository via their favorite package manager app, such as Sileo or Zebra. The source code for Oh My Insets is also available on the developer’s GitHub page for anyone who wants to learn more about how it works.

Will you be making Control Center denser with the new Oh My Insets jailbreak tweak? Let us know why or why not in the comments section down below.
