DuckOff jailbreak tweak forces the iOS keyboard and swipe-type to recommend swear words

In all the years that I’ve owned an iPhone, I’ve found it particularly annoying the way the device fights me tooth and nail to use my colorful vocabulary when attempting to convey my feelings in the heat the moment.

This is generally in reference to swear words, which iOS won’t recommend in the auto-correct field out of the box. Occasionally, iOS’ auto-correct will even change your swear words to something non-swearing.

iOS developer LNSSPsd wanted the same thing that the most of us wanted – for iOS to leave us and our swearing alone, and perhaps to even facilitate it. As such, a new and free jailbreak tweak called DuckOff was conceived.

As noted in a post shared to /r/jailbreak on Sunday, DuckOff causes the iOS keyboard and swipe-type to officially suggest swear words, even against its native programming.

With DuckOff installed, you can misspell swear words and your iPhone or iPad will help you enter the word you meant to say instead of replacing it with “Duck” or some other benign word that doesn’t meet your needs.

While not everybody has the need to swear, we’d be willing to bet that more people do it than are willing to admit. For that reason, we can see this jailbreak tweak being extremely popular, especially as it removes the safety rails from Apple’s native auto-correct and word suggestion features, allowing it to integrate seamlessly.

Personally, I find it astounding that this is the first time we’re getting a jailbreak tweak that can do this, as swear words have been something of a commodity long before 2024.

DuckOff is fully open source on the developer’s GitHub for anyone interested in learning more about how it works under the hood. It’s also available as a free download for jailbroken devices from the BigBoss repository via whichever package manager app you might be using.

Are you going to be installing DuckOff, or do you refrain from using swear words? We’re interested in hearing your thoughts in the comments section down below.
