If you’re currently jailbroken with Pwn20wnd’s unc0ver tool, then you may want to launch the Cydia app from your Home screen and refresh your sources.
According to a Tweet shared just this weekend by unc0ver co-developer Sam Bingner, a hot-fix for the Cydia Installer is now available that resolves a particularly irritating bug in which buttons in the app’s tab bar would become unresponsive to a user’s taps:
As we learn in a related /r/jailbreak thread, some unc0ver users on iOS 12.4 (and even some previous iterations of iOS 12) were experiencing this issue. The only known resolution at the time was to use swipe gestures to navigate from one tab to the next, but Cydia Installer v1.1.32-b22 appears to fix the issue for affected users.
Upon installing this Cydia update, it’s strongly advised that users reboot and re-jailbreak their handsets with the unc0ver app. While not a requirement, it seems to have the effect of mitigating usage problems with major updates later down the road.
Notably, the updated Cydia Installer comes just a few days after Sam Bingner launched an important update for the UIKit Tools dependency to resolve a major battery drain issue.
If you had problems tapping on any of the Cydia app’s tab buttons, did this update resolve it for you? Let us know in the comments section.
