When you’re in a phone call with somebody that you know and who is in your Contacts app, iOS is supposed to scale the contact’s photo to fill the screen for as long as you’re in the middle of that call. In some cases, it doesn’t.
iOS developer 0xkuj is out with a fix this week in the form of a free and open-source jailbreak tweak called ContactsFS, which automatically scales a contact’s photo to fill the entirety of your display whenever you’re in the middle of a phone call.
In the before (left) and after (right) screenshot examples above, you can see what a phone call without the full-screen contact photo might look like compared to a phone call with the full-screen contact photo. If you are on iOS 15 and later and you don’t see what’s on the right, then you might want to give ContactsFS a try.
It’s worth noting that ContactsFS only works when the person you’re on the phone with has a stored photo in your Contacts app. If they do not, then there is no image to scale and you’ll need to add one for this to work.
ContactsFS is available for free from the YouRepo repository via your favorite package manager app and supports pwned iOS 15, 16, and 17 devices. You can also view the tweak’s source code on GitHub to learn more about what makes it tick.
