Last week there was exciting news for those of you who, like me, still prefer over-the-ear headphones. CMF by Nothing revealed that on Sept. 29 it will release its first entry into that space: the Headphone Pro. Today, CMF by Nothing further teased the product with a post on X showing off something it’s calling an “energy slider.”

The post posed the question: “What do you think it does?” Guesses include control of a bass booster, noise-cancellation, EQ mixing, and, according to several gifs, Super Saiyan power.

The headphones will join CMF’s arsenal of affordable tech that includes low-cost earbuds, sleek smartwatches and affordable-yet-powerful phones. As reported by The Verge and seen in a series of teaser videos CMF posted to X, the budget-friendly brand gives us a glimpse of the product and what can only be assumed to be the launch date. How much the Headphone Pro will cost is still unknown, but it’s fair to expect CMF’s newest product to follow suit with the reasonable, if not downright tempting, pricing CMF has come to be known for.

Here’s what we know about the CMF Headphone Pro

Not much, unfortunately

The released videos haven’t done much more than introduce us to the Headphone Pro, but here’s what the short clips we’ve seen showed us:

  • The Headphone Pro will come in at least two colors: bright orange and a light green hue that I’m going to call “greyne.” Other colors may be available at launch or down the road, but these are the two that we saw.
  • Control via the headphones is a focus, and a mystery. A slide bar, a wheel and buttons. We don’t know exactly what they all do, but perhaps the most intrigue, thanks to another hype-building teaser from CMF, is in the “energy slider.”
  • Ear muffs are soft and interchangeable. In the first teaser video from CMF, there’s an almost caressing friction when one cover slides over another. Additionally, an abrupt color change when the cover attaches gives the impression of color swapping possibilities, a feature common with CMF products. Another video posted to X gives further nod to the color customization capabilities.
  • September 29, 2025 is a notable date. Is this when the headphones will be available for purchase? Probably. Do we know that for sure? Unfortunately, no.

Given each video’s brevity, that’s about all we know for sure about CMF’s first over-the-ear wireless headphones. Nothing did not immediately respond to a request for comment on pricing or other specific details.

Stay tuned and check back for more about the Headphone Pro, including pricing, availability and functionality. Once we at Android Police can get our hands, eyes, and ears on a pair, we’ll be sure to share what we think.
