The countdown has begun for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. It feels like we gain inside knowledge of the smartphone’s hardware almost every other day. We’ve also seen early renders that detailed the flagship’s rear and side profiles. We now have another set of renders coming through, albeit of a higher quality than anything we’ve seen before.

These 3D renders, courtesy of Onleaks and Android Headlines, reveal everything we needed to know about the flagship’s design. The same collaboration also uncovered renders of the Galaxy S25 Ultra over a year ago, so we have little reason to doubt the legitimacy of this leak.

Expect an increase in the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s overall thickness

As we’ve learned from previous Galaxy S26 Ultra leaks, the smartphone will feature an updated rear camera design, comprising a vertical island for three of the cameras, while the fourth camera and the laser autofocus unit will lie flush on the back panel. The camera island itself isn’t new, as it was recently seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (minus the fourth sensor) as well.

This island will also add to the overall thickness of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to Android Headlines. The phone is reportedly 7.9mm thick without the cameras, and a whopping 12.4mm with the camera bump included.

Comparing the Galaxy S26 Ultra next to its predecessor (fourth image above) highlights the extent of the design changes coming to the rear camera. We can also see rounder corners on the flagship, which should make it more manageable to use for extended periods.

The video above provides a clear view of the S Pen slot, which could receive a design update to accommodate the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s rounded corners. As for the rest of its hardware specifications, an unchanged 6.89-inch display is expected to be included. However, a downgraded telephoto sensor may be on the cards, which certainly won’t please camera enthusiasts.

Unsurprisingly, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will be the chipset of choice here, with the company probably adopting the “For Galaxy” branding. Based on preliminary reports, the company may offer some variants of the Galaxy S26 Ultra with the in-house Exynos 2600 SoC, though it’s unclear in which markets. Furthermore, a boost in wired charging speeds is predicted, with 60W charging reportedly supported, though the same 5,000mAh battery pack could make a comeback.

On the software side, the Galaxy S26 lineup will debut with One UI 8.5 pre-installed. A plethora of leaks have already offered early glimpses into the visual changes and tweaks coming to the Android 16-based software, so we already have a sense of what to expect.
