Jensen Huang, in a recent statement, acknowledged the overwhelming market demand for NVIDIA’s AI processors in Japan. During a press briefing at Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s official residence in Tokyo, Huang highlighted the urgency, stating, “Demand is very high, but I promised the prime minister we will do our very, very best to prioritize Japan’s requirements for GPUs.”

Rapidus, notably, aims to manufacture cutting-edge chips on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido.

He stated, “The industry that Japan is growing will produce GPUs.” This reflects a broader trend where countries, including Japan, recognize the importance of owning their data.
