Axon offers a ‘Priority Hub’ experience on jailbroken iOS 11-15 handsets

First released back in 2014, Priority Hub was perhaps one of the most popular notification-centric jailbreak tweaks of all time. It ported BlackBerry 10’s grouped notifications feature to the iOS Lock screen, allowing users to filter missed notifications on a per-app basis.

As time went on, developers have re-made Priority Hub for newer iterations of iOS, and now that both iOS 11 and 12 are jailbreakable, it only seems just that a proper remake should be released for those firmware versions. With that in mind, we’re excited to show you a new free jailbreak tweak release called Axon by iOS developer Nepeta.

As you might come to expect, Axon is yet another re-make of Priority Hub, and in addition to supporting both iOS 11 and 12 out of the box, it also supports A12(X) handsets, which can be jailbroken in full via the Electra Team’s Chimera jailbreak.

Just like the original Priority Hub, Axon sorts your missed incoming notifications by app on the Lock screen. You can filter between notifications by tapping on the corresponding app icon that appears just underneath the date and time.

Upon installing Axon, you’ll find a preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to your liking:

Here, you can:

  • Enable or disable Axon on demand
  • Toggle haptic feedback on or off
  • Choose between Default, Packed, or Compact styles
  • Sort notifications by app name or by notification count
  • Choose between add background or dim others selection styles
  • Enable or disable application icon badges in the Priority Hub interface
  • Hide or show the background

The developer provides a Respring button at the top right of the preference pane that lets you save any changes you make on demand.

If like me, you’re nostalgic about the original Priority Hub tweak on your jailbroken iOS 11-15 device, then you can’t go wrong with Axon. The tweak is a free download from the Merona repository in Cydia or Sileo, and its source code is published on the developer’s GitHub page.

Will you be installing Axon on your jailbroken device? Discuss in the comments section below.
