While Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a single-player title, it gets frequent updates like a live service multiplayer game. Ubisoft has just released the summer roadmap of updates, and it’s packed to the brim with some long-awaited improvements.

The additions start next week, with an update that raises level caps and adds a New Game Plus mode, giving players a reason to return to the game. Looking forward, other improvements and even a story expansion are planned between July 29 and September 16.

What’s in the Assassin’s Creed Shadows summer roadmap?

New Game Plus, the Claws of Awaji expansion, and more

The summer roadmap highlights three different updates. The first will drop on July 29, the second sometime in the beginning of September, and the final one on September 16. The July 29 update is pretty significant, as it’s the update that adds New Game Plus. A blog post from Ubisoft explains that this mode will become available once players complete the main story. They can start the story over, or begin from when the Hideout is first unlocked, with all of the gear, skill, and knowledge rank progression of their previous run.

If you’re planning on replaying Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a New Game Plus mode makes it much more interesting to do so. It’s not all that’s being added, though, as Ubisoft will also be increasing the level cap from 60 to 80 and adding new ranks for Knowledge and Mastery skills, hideout buildings, and the Forge. A third Shadow Project will also be added, offering players another battle pass-like track of rewards.

The next update is coming sometime toward the start of September, and is focused on quality-of-life improvement. Most notably, this update will add the ability to skip time-of-day, uncap the frame rate on PC, and make getting rid of the fog of war on the open-world map a more straightforward process. This is all being done in anticipation of the final update on this roadmap

That would be the Claws of Awaji expansion launching on September 16. This expansion adds over ten hours of new story content to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. With that comes a new region as well as more weapons, abilities, outfits, and enemies to fight. Those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows will get Claws of Awaji for free, although they will have had to beat the main story before starting it.
