One of the things I really like about iOS & iPadOS 15 is the ability to see detailed information about images that are stored in my iPhone or iPad’s Photo Library. Types of information include the type of device it was captured on, camera specs, location, and more.
iOS & iPadOS 14 and 13 users don’t get this feature, and since most jailbreakers today use this version, it was imminent for a developer to port this feature to older firmware, which is exactly what a new and free jailbreak tweak called Aperture by iOS developer MTAC does.
As depicted in the screenshot example above, Aperture allows users who view an image in the Photos app to tap the date and time in the Navigation Bar to see that file’s detailed information.
The pop-up is actually rather detailed despite being a port, and it closely rivals the detail of the official iOS & iPadOS 15 photograph information feature,” as it shows just about the same statistics.
With no options to configure, what you see is ultimately what you get. But that’s not much of an issue, as the tweak does a beautiful job of doing what it sets out to accomplish — porting a newer firmware feature to older jailbroken firmware.
