One of my all-time favorite Lock Screen jailbreak tweaks, Analog by iOS developer Ginsu, has been updated to version 2.0 this week with official support for iOS 16. But more than simply supporting new firmware, Ginsu made this update particularly special in several ways.
Analog is a jailbreak tweak that replaces the Lock Screen’s standard digital clock display with a configurable analog clock face.
Right off the bat, you’ll see from our screenshot examples above that Analog v2.0 not only brings this popular tweak to iOS 16, but it features full compatibility with the iOS 16 Lock Screen wallpaper depth effect, causing the analog clock to ‘hide’ behind the subject in compatible wallpapers.
Just like with the stock digital Lock Screen clock, if you have widgets enabled on the Lock Screen, then the hiding effect will not take place. This is worth noting, so we show that in our screenshot examples.
Once installed Analog v2.0 adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where users can configure the tweak to their liking:
Things that you can do here include:
- Enable or disable Analog on demand
- Configure the appearance of Analog:
- Choose a Clock face theme:
- Minimal
- Roman
- Cool
- Choose a Clock hand theme:
- Default
- Enable or disable a custom tint
- Choose a custom tint color via a color picker
- Enable or disable a Clock border
- Adjust the border width via a slider
- Choose a custom border color via a color picker
- Enable a blurred background
- Choose a Clock face theme:
- Respring your device to save any changes you’ve made
If you’re interested in giving Analog 2.0 a spin for yourself, then you can download the tweak for free from Ginsu’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 15 and 16 devices.
Those not already using Ginsu’s personal repository can add it to their package manager app by using the URL provided below:
