At a starting price of $650, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is Samsung’s most premium wearable to date. It’s made for outdoor athletes, offering a huge battery, durable materials, and quick access to exercise tracking.
I’ve found Amazon Prime Day can be hit or miss, as I’ll spend some years scouring for a hint of a decent deal. That’s not the case this year, especially on Samsung products, as Prime Day 2025 has a few deals that are hard to pass up. From Tuesday, July 8th to Friday, July 11th, you can pick up a Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra for only $325 — a 50% discount from MSRP and an all-time low price.
Even with a new crop of Galaxy Watches right around the corner, there’s little denying that $325 is an outstanding deal on an excellent smartwatch. If your wrist has been feeling a little empty lately, here’s why you should be picking up a Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra on Prime Day.
A premium watch with plenty of presence
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra design isn’t for everyone, but that’s what I like about it. There are plenty of smartwatches that take a minimalist approach on your wrist, but the Galaxy Watch Ultra isn’t one of them. It’s loud and bold, and it wears more like a G-Shock than anything else. If you’re used to chunky watches, you’ll immediately feel comfortable with how the Galaxy Watch Ultra wears, right down to its tall stance on the wrist.
Despite its 47mm diameter, the Galaxy Watch Ultra only weighs 92g with its strap, thanks to its titanium construction. That may seem like a lot, but a typical stainless steel dive watch weighs close to 175g, so it’s still less of a commitment on the wrist. The Galaxy Watch Ultra features a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED panel protected by a sapphire crystal. I can’t stress enough how vital a sapphire crystal is for a daily-wear watch. You get added peace of mind, and you don’t hold your breath each time your watchface accidentally scrapes against a wall or door.
It’s also a vibrant display, with a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits, and I’ve never had a problem viewing mine outdoors, even in harsh sunlight.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is powered by an Exynos W1000 chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM, which provides a smooth smartwatch experience. I don’t typically ask my smartwatch to do anything overly demanding, but it’s comforting to know the power is there if I need it. Samsung promises four major software upgrades for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, ensuring it won’t become obsolete anytime soon.
Samsung has equipped its flagship smartwatch with LTE compatibility and NFC, enabling you to make payments directly from your watch. There’s also an array of health and fitness sensors that track everything from workouts to blood oxygen levels. I haven’t run any marathons with my Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the most intense activity it’s tracked is bowling, but there are still plenty of reasons why non-athletes should consider picking one up.
Battery life is outstanding, and I consistently get three days of use on a single charge. I still would have preferred a rotating bezel for easier navigation, but for $325, I’m willing to forgive Samsung. If you’re in the market for a smartwatch this Prime Day, you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t take a hard look at the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
