The Kindle Oasis was seemingly discontinued at the tail end of last year, as we saw wavering stock for some time, with the e-reader eventually becoming impossible to purchase from Amazon, with no stock in sight. The e-reader was also removed from Amazon’s comparison listings, a sure enough sign Amazon was done with the only e-reader in its stable with physical page turn buttons, to the chagrin of many dedicated fans of the device.

Well, I have some great news to share with everyone. It looks like Amazon found some extra Kindle Oasis stock and is currently selling both the 8GB and 32GB versions at some remarkable prices (via Good E-Reader), and there is no mention of these being refurbished, which means they are brand new and available for a fraction of their retail price, at least while supplies last.

The Kindle Oasis has faded a little into the background with Amazon’s Paperwhite models, which offer a similar screen size and USB-C. So the benefits of jumping up to the Oasis over a Paperwhite are growing smaller, though you still get physical page turn buttons, which could be worth the upgrade alone if you demand tactility with your e-readers.

After an absence from Amazon’s store, it would appear that fresh stock for the Kindle Oasis has made a reappearance, though it looks like supplies are low, so interested parties will have to act fast. After all, this is the only e-reader from Amazon that still offers physical page-turn buttons, a rare beast that has returned from the dead for what is likely its last hurrah.

Typically, the Kindle Oasis that offers 8GB retailed for $250, and the 32GB model for $350, which were likely contributing factors to Amazon discontinuing production. Well, today you can snag a new 8GB model for the low price of $120, where the 32GB model is now selling for $150. These are incredibly steep discounts on what I consider the best modern e-reader from Amazon.

So, if you were remiss that you missed out on one of Amazon’s best e-readers thanks to the model’s discontinuation, today is your day with a fresh crop of stock hitting Amazon’s store. So, hurry up before stock runs out; this is probably the last time we will see new Oasis models sold on the market. Oh, and don’t forget to grab some free e-books to go along with your purchase; this way, you can hit the ground running like a true bookhound.
