If you thought the Swarovski version of the Motorola Razr 2024 was an unlikely collaboration, then how about one between smartphone maker Honor and British fashion designer Jimmy Choo? If you think it’ll never happen, then prepare to be surprised, as right on the heels of the Moto phone is an Honor Magic V Flip 2 jazzed up by Jimmy Choo.

Jimmy Choo shared the news on Instagram, saying:

We are honored to once again collaborate with Honor, weaving our signature haute couture vision into the creation of the new Honor Magic V Flip2.

The back cover features an exquisite crystal inlay, where cutting-edge innovation meets the timeless artistry of crystal to create a dazzling interplay of light with every graceful fold and unfold.

This masterpiece is crafted to celebrate the brilliance of women, an invitation to shine with elegance and confidence.

On its official Weibo page, Honor also had something (translated) to say:

The Honor Magic V Flip 2 is coming soon, collaborating with Professor Jimmy Choo to redefine the rules of fashion. Every design is refined down to the millimeter; every opening and closing is like awakening a hidden starry sky. The light and shadow flow, the opening and closing are like poetry, so stay tuned!

Second collab for Honor and Choo

Honor collaborated with Jimmy Choo on the first Magic V Flip phone, released this time last year, and in the teaser image shared on Weibo, it doesn’t look like much will have changed for the comeback. The rear panel has a shimmering, sparkling, crystal-like design, but this time it appears to be in blue rather than green.

The first Jimmy Choo edition had a special engraving on the hinge, some custom wallpaper, and matching cases for the phone inside the box too. We should expect the same for the new Magic V Flip 2 x Jimmy Choo edition. Honor is no stranger to cool collaborations, having recently worked with Porsche Design on the Honor Magic 7 RSR.

Jimmy Choo is most associated with women’s fashion, but it does make products for men too. It’s interesting how Choo explicitly mentions women in the Instagram post, singling it out as a product aimed towards them. However, Motorola produced press images showing both women and men using the Swarovski Razr phone, and wearing the Swarovski Moto Buds Loop.

There are a few rumors around the V Flip 2’s specs, including a 4-inch OLED cover screen, bringing it in-line with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, plus an open 6.8-inch OLED screen, and a big 5,500mAh battery, which would make it stand out from the compact folding phone crowd. None of this has been confirmed yet, and there’s no final release date for the Magic V Flip 2 yet either. However, seeing as both Honor and Jimmy Choo have talked about the phone, it’s unlikely to be far away.
