The Members app is a one-stop-shop for all things Samsung. Not only does the app give you notices about important changes to core Samsung apps, it also gives you access to quick diagnostics tools for your phone, the apps on it, and the phone’s battery.

The app is also home to important Samsung news and tips, paired with a community section for users to come together and share insights, questions, and tips to help others get the most out of their Galaxy.

Samsung is rolling out an update for the Members app that promises to offer a cleaner and streamlined user experience, but it comes with tradeoffs (via SamMobile).

First made public in late May, version 5.4.00.10 of the app has begun rolling out now, and it removes three useful features.

My products

Previously available via the Support section of the app, My products essentially gave users a list view of all their registered Samsung devices. The section allowed users to manage their devices, alongside an option to view relevant details like the device’s name, type, model, serial number, IMEI, specifications, and more.

Register

As the feature’s name suggests, the section allowed users to register new devices. Said devices would then show up in the aforementioned My products list. Main benefits of registering your Samsung device include getting access to exclusive offers, faster tech support, easier tracking of warranty information, and more.

Request service

Prior to the update, the Request service section was already mid-deprecation. Tapping the tool on the Members app directed users to visit the Samsung Digital Service Center for help, and now, the option has been fully removed.

Similarly, to access products tied to your Samsung account, or to register new ones, you’ll have to rely on the official Samsung website.

It isn’t entirely clear why Samsung decided to remove the three features, though it’s highly probable the South Korean tech giant analyzed relevant data and came to the conclusion that the features were underutilized within the app.
