With much thanks to Ihor Feoktistov, CTO and Co-Founder at Relevant Software, Aviva Zacks had the opportunity to find out all about his company’s services.

Safety Detective: What motivated you to start Relevant Software?

Ihor Feoktistov: My co-founder, Andrew Burak, and I started our first services with software development from A to Z, and later we figured out that our clients need cybersecurity services as well. Right now, we are working on some fintech projects, which contain critical user data. We need to care about developing features and ensuring that everything is built using the top standards of cybersecurity.

SD: Can you tell me about your company’s cybersecurity services?

IF: We provide application security, pen testing, and help our clients get certified on ISO 270001 certification and comply with GDPR. We do a gap analysis to see what should be improved in a company, and we help our clients comply with regulations.

SD: What helps your company stay ahead of the competition?

IF: We only hire experienced cybersecurity experts; we don’t have beginners in our company. This helps us provide excellent quality of services. We are a big team of professionals, and our clients appreciate that. They tell us about it whenever we ask for feedback about our company.

SD: What do you feel are the worst cyberthreats out there today?

IF: Companies and startups especially are motivated about developing new functionality and don’t pay attention to cybersecurity. That’s why there can be a situation where huge companies that are certified can be hacked, and it’s a pity.

I’m happy with GDPR and similar data protection rules in different countries because companies are finally paying more attention to data privacy and security.

SD: How do you feel this pandemic is going to affect cybersecurity for the future?

IF: One side is that it really boosts attention to cybersecurity because almost the whole world is working remotely. From that perspective, it helps companies care about antiviruses and VPNs, so it is helping improve the cybersecurity presence.

A lot of companies didn’t have experience in this field and have been hacked. That’s why we have invested a lot more of our resources into cybersecurity to help our clients choose better solutions and organize infrastructure in their company. We like helping them to cover security, not only in the software that we developed. We also help them with security on the organizational level.
