Unc0ver v4.2.1 adds battery drain fix, improved Substitute reliability, and more

Kicking off this Wednesday morning, hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd has issued an updated version of the unc0ver jailbreak tool dubbed version 4.2.1.

In a Tweet shared just minutes ago, Pwn20wnd said that unc0ver v4.2.1 would resolve a plethora of issues that were present in v4.2.0, including battery drain and Substitute unreliability:

The change log published on Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub page cites the following changes in this release:

02/26/2020 – v4.2.1 was released for production with the following changes:

– Fix a bug that caused unreliability in starting up substitute
– Fix an issue that broke battery settings and caused extra  battery drain

From what we can gather, this is mostly a bug fix release with no new features. On the other hand, those who’ve been experiencing any sort of instabilities such as the battery settings not working or random reboots will probably want to download and deploy this new version of the unc0ver jailbreak as soon as possible to see if it resolves these issues.

Just yesterday, Pwn20wnd integrated A8X-A11 support, which joined the existing A12-A13 support for iOS 13.0-13.3; that said, unc0ver can now jailbreak any iOS 13.0-13.3 device. The update also brought inter-operability with the checkra1n jailbreak for supported devices.

As always, the unc0ver jailbreak tool can be downloaded directly from unc0ver.dev, and you can use any of the following tutorials to get started with the unc0ver jailbreak:

Has the latest version of unc0ver resolved any of the issues you were having with the jailbreak? Discuss in the comments section below.
