This tweak ports iOS 15’s Home Screen page reordering feature to jailbroken iOS 14 devices

iOS 15 added a new feature that lets iPhone users rearrange their existing Home Screen pages to their heart’s content. While iOS 14 users can access the same editing interface from their Home Screen, they’ll notice that the rearrangement feature is notably missing.

While the circumstances would indeed be unfortunate for anyone avoiding iOS 15 like the plague, just as any smart jailbreaker would be doing right about now, the good news is that iOS developer Tomasz Poliszuk is out with a remedy in the form of a new and free jailbreak tweak dubbed Home Page Reordering Enabler.

The name of the tweak couldn’t have been more telling, as it effectively lets iOS 14 users reorder their existing Home Screen pages just like any iOS 15 user can out of the box. In the screenshot examples above, you’ll see that it works in exactly the same way.

According to the developer, the feature was already coded into iOS 14, however Apple kept it disabled with the public release and didn’t enable it until iOS 15. This tweak simply enables the dormant code, and side-by-side with an iOS 15 device, the interface looks similar, albeit not entirely identical.

While someone like me probably won’t use this feature too often because of how few apps I have on my iPhone, the opposite would be true for someone with seemingly endless pages of apps on their Home Screen. That’s because Home Page Reordering Enabler makes quick work of Home Screen reorganizing on jailbroken installations of iOS 14.

With no options to configure, Home Page Reordering Enabler is a simple tweak that does what it sets out to do, and as a result, gets a big thumbs up in my book. As a bonus, you can taunt Apple with the fact that you have an iOS 15-only feature on your iOS 14 device.

Those interested in trying the tweak for themselves can download it for free from the BigBoss repository via their favorite package manager app. Please note that the tweak only supports jailbroken iOS 14 devices. It’s also open source on the developer’s GitHub page.

Do you have a reason to rearrange the order of your Home Screen pages? Discuss why or why not in the comments section down below.
