Do you have a soft spot for the timeless aesthetic of an analog clock? If so, then a new jailbreak tweak subtly named Analog by iOS developer ginsudev could be right up your alley!
Analog is a simple add-on for pwned iPhones and iPads that replaces the Lock Screen’s native digital time display with a customizable analog clock instead.
Several examples of Analog appear in the screenshot examples above, and as you can see, the tweak has a little bit of something for everyone whether you’re a minimalist, enjoy the fancy Roman Numerals, or prefer a simple numeric clock.
And of course, the tweak looks great on the iPad as well:
Once installed, Analog adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where users can configure a number of different options to their liking:
Things you can do here include:
- Toggle Analog on or off on demand
- Customize the analog clock face
- Customize the analog clock hands
- Further configure Analog’s aesthetics
We’ll dive deeper into the various preferences panes offered by Analog below:
Clock Face
In the Clock Face preference pane, users can pick their preferred clock face. Out of the box, three options are available including:
- Minimal
- Roman Numeral
- Cool
Clock Hands
The Clock Hands preference pane lets users customize their analog clock hands, however the default option is the only native option.
You can, however, make your own and add them to the following directory via a file manager app like Filza: /Library/Application Support/Analog/Hands.
Image names and sizes must be as follows:
- png = 25x25px
- png = 16x120px
- png = 16x101px
- png = 16x120px
Appearance
In the Appearance preference pane, users are able to customize the following options:
- Hide or show the border
- Adjust the border width via a slider
- Pick a preferred border color
- Show background blur
- Use a custom tint
- Adjust the tint color
- Hide or show the date
- Enable or disable a custom date format
- Enter the date format your want
The developer includes an Apply button at the top right of every preference pane that allows you to save the settings you choose.
If you’re interested in giving Analog a try for yourself, then you can download the tweak for free from Ginsu’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 and 14 devices.
Those not already taking advantage of Ginsu’s personal repository can add it to their package manager of choice by using the URL provided below:
