Samsung has rolled out an update for One UI 8.5 that grants the user the ability to customize their Quick Settings panel through Samsung’s QuickStar module (via Sammy Fans).
The update is rolling out to anyone currently using One UI 8.5, which pretty much just means anyone using one of the Samsung Galaxy S26 phones. However, it’s also available through the One UI 8.5 beta for other phones.
New customization options for your Quick Settings panel
Your Quick Settings panel, the panel full of buttons and settings you access by pulling down from your home screen, likely gets a lot of use. So being able to change it to suit your needs is a powerful tool, and it’s one Samsung has handed Samsung fans on the One UI 8.5 operating system.
Reported by well-known Samsung newshound Tarun Vats, the new update allows those on One UI 8.5 to change the panel style of their Quick Settings, change the control bar level display, and resize the items within the panel. Additionally, they can also change layout settings to suit landscape orientations.
What does this mean? For a start, you can rotate the brightness and volume bars and move them around, and you can also resize the “global card”, or the area where all the toggles live.
Despite the upgrades only coming to those on One UI 8.5, this same upgrade is also coming to One UI 7 and 8 users, delivering the same stability and bug fixes. The customization options will, supposedly, still be there, you just won’t be able to access them. That seems a little mean, giving you the ability to see your new toys, but not actually allowing you to play with them.

Still, maybe this is what you need to get into the One UI 8.5 beta, if your device is able to do so.
Tarun’s replies are full of people who’ve taken full advantage of this new feature, so if you want some inspiration on customizing your Quick Settings panel, that’s a great place to start.
