Samsung began public beta testing of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series in early December. Following the Galaxy S26’s launch with One UI 8.5 in early March, the company expanded the beta program to include the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Now, it seems Samsung is ready to expand the One UI 8.5 beta to more of its devices.
The first One UI 8.5 beta build has been spotted on Samsung’s server for the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6 for several countries (via @tarunvats33). This points to the company getting ready to open the beta program for its 2024 flagship devices soon. When it goes live, expect the beta build to be available for India, South Korea, and select European countries.
Samsung has followed a similar pattern in the past, gradually rolling out its One UI beta program to older flagship devices after debuting it on the latest models. If that trend continues, the Galaxy S24 series and Samsung’s 2024 foldables should be next in line to receive the beta build in the coming weeks.
Interestingly, Tarun Vats also spotted the first One UI 8.5 beta builds for the Galaxy S25 FE and S24 FE on Samsung’s internal servers. The company has never included Fan Edition devices in its beta programs before, but it seems this may finally change.
With One UI 8.5 stable already available on the Galaxy S26 series, it’s a matter of time before Samsung rolls it out to its older flagship devices.
One UI 9 beta may also arrive soon
Unlike the S25 lineup, the beta program for Samsung’s 2024 devices likely won’t run as long or as extensively, which should help speed up the stable rollout.
Samsung has also been spotted internally testing Android 17-based One UI 9 build for the Galaxy S26 series. With Google’s next big Android release scheduled for June or July 2026, the company should start its beta program within the next couple of months.
